Approach

Frontier Energy manages and operates a 40-member public private partnership focused on bringing fuel cell electric vehicles (cars, buses, and trucks) to the commercial market. A team of 11 people are responsible for program management and implementation, education and outreach, infrastructure planning, dealership engagement, technology development, and stakeholder engagement.

Frontier Energy:

  • Manages ride and drive events that reach people who are not familiar with ZEVs.
  • Does high-impact outreach at community fairs and festivals.
  • Provided successful 30-day loaner programs for community thought leaders.
  • Participated in dealership rallies to train and motivate sales people.
  • Developed interactive software to help overcome fuel anxiety.
  • Had partnerships with GM, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Hyundai, The Volkswagen Group, BMW, Nissan, U.S. DOE, California Air Resources Board, California Energy Commission, and more than 40 other organizations.
