Frontier Energy has decades of experience solving complex challenges with new technologies for buildings, communities, distributed energy, storage, and vehicles. We help developers, institutions, manufacturers, utilities, and governments assess the potential of promising technologies, implement pilot programs to collect and analyze data, explore “what if” scenarios to optimize performance, and quickly analyze the data to quantify performance. We are experts at distilling large data sets into useful information about equipment efficiencies, economics, or greenhouse gas savings.
Appliance Test Lab
The Appliance Test Lab at the Foodservice Technology Center is an independent, fuel-neutral facility. Frontier’s technicians generate unbiased third-party data under tightly controlled conditions for commercial food service appliances from the smallest countertop fryer to the largest roll-in rack oven. In operation for over 30 years, the lab is EPA recognized and ISO accredited.
Building Science Research Laboratory
Frontier’s Building Science Lab is dedicated to independent evaluation of promising technologies for space and water heating, building envelope, and smart and connected systems. Frontier maintains cloud-based data dashboards for daily—or hourly—performance so that appropriate parties can participate in incentive programs like NYGATS, WRIGIS, NYSERDA programs, California SGIP, Massachusetts APS, PTS, and CPS credits, ISO-New England FCM reporting, and Connecticut Microgrid Program.
